Care & Maintenance
PLNTH blocks are produced in natural stone.
Variation, mineral movement, and subtle surface irregularities are inherent characteristics of the material.
With proper care, stone will maintain its structural integrity and appearance for decades.
General Care
- Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water for routine cleaning
- Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner when required
- Dry surfaces after cleaning to prevent water marking
- Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals
Do not use:
- Acidic cleaners
- Bleach
- Vinegar
- Ammonia-based products
Surface Finishes
Honed Finish
A smooth, matte surface. Clean with neutral cleaner. Reseal periodically depending on environment and use.
Polished Finish
Dense and reflective. Requires minimal maintenance but should be wiped dry to prevent surface residue.
Antique / Textured Finish
May collect dust within surface texture. Use a soft brush or microfiber cloth for routine maintenance.
Sealing
Most natural stones benefit from periodic sealing, particularly in high-traffic or hospitality environments.
Recommended:
- Reseal every 12–24 months depending on use. Stains or marks must be removed before re-sealing.
- Always test sealers on a small inconspicuous area.
Placement & Environment
- Use protective pads beneath the base when placing on sensitive flooring
- Avoid prolonged exposure to standing moisture
- Avoid impact to edges and corners
Stone is durable but not impact-proof.
Installation & Handling
Due to weight, all plinths should be handled by trained personnel. Avoid dragging units across floors. Lift and position using appropriate equipment.
Natural Variation
Each piece is unique. Veining, tone variation, and minor surface inclusions are natural geological characteristics and not defects.
